2025 BCSA AGM Report - A District Continuing to Grow and Evolve
Nov. 30, 2025
2025 Big Country Soccer Association - AGM Report Introduction
The Big Country Soccer Association is pleased to present the 2025 AGM Report, marking the close of an extraordinary year of growth, collaboration, and progress across our District—and setting the stage for an ambitious and inspiring 2026 season.
Throughout 2025, our member clubs worked tirelessly to deliver high-quality, developmentally appropriate soccer environments rooted in the Canada Soccer Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) model and the Standards for Quality Soccer (SQS). Together, we advanced coach education, expanded opportunities for players, strengthened referee development, and reinforced our commitment to providing safe, inclusive, and welcoming soccer experiences for all participants.
A major highlight of 2025 was the success of the inaugural Girls Power Weekend, hosted in Crossfield. This event brought together players, coaches, referees, and families from across rural Alberta, showcasing the incredible passion for the girls' game and reinforcing BCSA’s long-term commitment to elevating female participation and leadership. Building on this momentum, planning is already underway for the expanded two-day 2026 Girls Power Weekend.
As we turn toward 2026— a landmark year with the FIFA World Cup coming to Canada—BCSA is focused on preparing our rural communities to share in the excitement and opportunity this global event brings. Our priorities include strengthening SQS compliance and monitoring, expanding all-girls programming at the U9 level and above, developing a District Select Program to support high-performing players, and fostering stronger collaboration between clubs to ensure a unified, district-wide vision for the growth of the game.
This AGM Report provides a comprehensive overview of our achievements, challenges, and strategic direction, along with updates from all BCSA portfolios. Most importantly, it recognizes the volunteers, coaches, referees, parents, and players whose dedication makes soccer possible throughout our region.
Thank you to every club and community that contributed to a successful 2025 season. With your continued commitment, we are ready to make 2026 our most impactful year yet—one defined by unity, development, opportunity, and a shared passion for the beautiful game.
