Big Country Soccer Association Announces 2025 Annual General Meeting and Board Openings
Oct. 19, 2025
The Big Country Soccer Association (BCSA) is excited to announce its upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM), marking another important milestone in our continued growth and evolution as a district.
Over the past year, we’ve seen significant progress and recognition — both provincially and nationally — as rural Alberta’s soccer communities continue to rise in visibility, participation, and collaboration. From grassroots development to district-wide programming, our momentum reflects the collective effort of volunteers, coaches, clubs, and families who are helping shape the next generation of players across our region.
This success has also created new opportunities to strengthen our leadership capacity. To meet the needs of our expanding programs, BCSA will be adding several new coordinator roles to the Board structure — positions designed to enhance communication, player development, referee support, and community outreach across our member clubs.
Board Positions Open for Nomination
As part of the 2025 AGM, the following Board positions are open for nomination:
Vice-President Current Vice-President Duncan Hawkins has been nominated for re-election for another term, continuing his leadership in building pathways for coach education, girls’ development, and inter-district collaboration across rural Alberta.
Treasurer The Treasurer position is open for nomination, as our current Treasurer has chosen not to seek re-election. This role is vital in ensuring financial transparency, budget management, and strategic investment in district programming.
New Coordinator Positions (Multiple) In addition to the above, BCSA is expanding its Board to include new Coordinator roles that reflect our district’s growing needs:
Assistant Standards for Quality Soccer (SQS) Coordinator
Communications and Marketing Coordinator
Competitions Coordinator
Risk and Compliance Officer
Sponsorship and Grants Coordinator
Youth Development - Grassroots Coordinator
These new positions will help strengthen grassroots support and ensure that each area of the district has a voice in shaping how soccer continues to evolve in rural Alberta.
